I am going to install these European OEM HID lights to my NA Spec Golf IV, I am in search of all the information possible to make this as clean an installation as possible.

1.  Foofighter28's HID lighting wire sketch, this is straight off VW Vortex, from one of many post concerning HID lights.  The OEM units have been regarded as the best lights out there for the Golf and Jetta IV VW's.

The below are pictures and brief explanation of the installation of my HID Bosch Golf IV lights.  These were right from a wrecked Golf IV so they were completely put together and ready to install.

The sketch above is correct, it displays the proper pin locations for each light.  Here are my OEM HID I am about to install.

The 4 pictures above show the HID lights and my car as it usually looks, I also removed the entire wiring harness from a NA Spec light assembly.

The next 4 pictures above show the actual plugs into the HID lights and the normal plug.  The HID lights have a 12 pin light and the NA Spec light has only 10 pins.  I trimmed down the wiring harness to have about 3 to 4 inches of wire length (see the last picture).

The proper signal wires were directly soldiered to the pins of the 12 pin input HID connector.  The leveler motor wires on mine were not messed with as I plan to install the Auto level sensors at each wheel.  I have the control box, just need the sensors.  The last picture shows the temporary location of the Ballast for the passenger light (it is near the washer tank).  This is now old information as I have made an intermediate patch cable to adapt the OEM HID to the Halogen lighted cars.

The above pictures show the location of my drivers side ballast as it sits under the wiring loom protector.  The rest of the pictures are various pictures after the installation.  I also performed a alignment on the lights as they were not positioned right, using a Hella beam master alignment machine.  This is old information too, as I have the correct mounting brackets from VW which mount them in each side wheel well, behind the liner of course.

The finished product, they are just awesome.

I also have developed and made a intermediate patch cable which can plug into your 10 pin light plug and give you the correct 12 pin plug to connect to these OEM Bosch HID lights, see these pictures for good look at them.  Email me if you are interested in them.  Or anything for these HID lights as I have a Word Document with part numbers and prices of available parts.
